HeatScribe Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-19

This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be requested for HeatScribe purchases.

For launch, HeatScribe is operated by Andrew Geddes, carrying on business as HeatScribe.

Questions and refund requests may be sent to:

  • hello@heatscribe.com

1. Scope

This policy applies to purchases of HeatScribe software licenses made through a HeatScribe-designated checkout flow.

HeatScribe is sold as a one-time purchase desktop software product, not as subscription software.

If a purchase is processed through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy may act as merchant of record for the payment transaction. In that case, payment processing, taxes, receipts, and refund processing may be handled through Lemon Squeezy, while use of the Software remains governed by the HeatScribe End User License Agreement.

2. Standard Refund Window

A refund may be requested within 14 days of purchase.

To request a refund, email:

  • hello@heatscribe.com

Please include:

  • the order number, if available

  • the email address used for purchase

  • the license key or activation email, if available

  • a brief description of what you are having trouble with

3. Good-Faith Refund Cases

Refunds are generally intended for reasonable good-faith situations such as:

  • the Software does not function on a supported Mac

  • license activation fails and cannot be resolved within a reasonable support window

  • a major advertised feature does not work substantially as described

  • the wrong license tier or duplicate license was purchased by mistake and the issue is reported promptly

  • another practical issue makes the purchase unfair to keep, as determined by HeatScribe in good faith

For launch, a supported Mac means an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or newer, unless HeatScribe states a different support floor in the applicable release materials.

4. Trial Relationship

HeatScribe may offer a 14-day trial intended to help users evaluate the Software before purchase.

Use or availability of the trial does not by itself disqualify a buyer from requesting a refund.

5. Cases Not Automatically Covered

Refunds are not automatically promised for:

  • unsupported hardware, operating systems, or workflows

  • use on Intel Macs or unsupported macOS versions

  • misunderstanding of how the product works after the trial or product information was available

  • dissatisfaction after substantial successful use

  • activation or use beyond the permitted number of Macs

  • license sharing, license resale, account sharing, or other licensing abuse

  • requests made outside the standard refund window

  • issues caused primarily by third-party services, unsupported external systems, altered files, user error, or circumstances outside HeatScribe's control

6. License Status After Refund

If a refund is issued, the related HeatScribe license may be cancelled, deactivated, or made unavailable for future use.

You must stop using the refunded license and must not continue to activate, copy, share, resell, or distribute it.

7. Payment Processor And Merchant Of Record

Where Lemon Squeezy is used for checkout, approved refunds will normally be processed through Lemon Squeezy back to the original payment method when possible.

Refund timing may depend on Lemon Squeezy, the payment method, card network, bank, or other payment provider.

Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms, fraud controls, dispute handling, and chargeback processes may also apply to purchases processed through Lemon Squeezy.

8. Chargebacks And Disputes

If you have a problem with a HeatScribe purchase, please contact HeatScribe first at:

  • hello@heatscribe.com

HeatScribe will try to resolve reasonable purchase, activation, delivery, and product-function issues in good faith.

Chargebacks, payment disputes, fraud reviews, and similar payment-provider processes may be handled by Lemon Squeezy or the applicable payment provider.

9. Non-Waivable Rights

Nothing in this policy limits consumer, refund, warranty, tax, payment, chargeback, or other rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

If applicable law gives you additional rights, those rights continue to apply.

10. Governing Law

This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, unless non-waivable consumer-protection or other mandatory laws require a different result.

11. Changes To This Policy

HeatScribe may update this Refund Policy from time to time.

The version in effect at the time of purchase should govern that purchase unless otherwise required by law.
